Dragon Energy
A symbol of darkness in the West and of wisdom in the East, the Dragon represents powerful energy at play. Resting motionless on its hoard of gold, or gliding along through clouds, broody with longing, the Dragon is above all the passionate intuitive flow of energy, capable of both contracting and expanding instantaneously.
Dragon might be considered as strong alchemical flows of energy, that souls of a particular nature have chosen to embody. It is an amplification of what currently exists in your own field or more widely. Beware though, Dragon energy will amplify everything - so where there is still shadow, it will amplify that too. Hence, it requires internal clarity for the energy flow not to 'kick-back'.
The Dragon captures our imagination, possessing many powers and qualities we would love to integrate into our lives: thunderous voice, breath of fire, invisibility, razor talons, whiplash tail, swim or fly mode, ancient sagacity. This energy arises from unfathomable inner space and is inscrutably profund. No trace of Dragon is to be found within its heavenly home, where light billows through mist. It is out searching for the Pearl of Great Price, the Pearl of Wisdom. It will descend and rest in us, on the hoard of wisdom within our heart..
Serious Play
This energy is realizable by certain people who feel drawn to it. Though itself irreligious and amoral, unconfined, ever delighting in its own freedom, including freedom from definition, it can be ridden as inspiration or as sheer brutal power, as skillfulness in interraction, or suddenly disappear into silent invisibility. It is a threshold energy between form and emptiness, ordinary and non-ordinary worlds.
Its timings remain a mystery even to those it directs with huge tenderness. This energy is at play everywhere in the world where mastery is found: in sport, dance, art, poetry, even statesmanship.
Upaya
Harnassing this energy is not to own it, but to allow oneself to be owned by it, in a way to mount and ride the Dragon. This is called Upaya (skillful means) in Buddhism and Intelligent Obedience (obedience to the situation) in Christian asceticism. It can enter into any circumstances we find ourselves in. Our perspective will shift as soon as the floorless field of the Dragon is felt.
If you could benefit from more creative flow in your life, with direction, meaning and purpose, then you could call on Dragon energy to support that inspiration. Dragon energy is the wild energy of our deepest longing.
I offer guidance in tailored 1-1 sessions, as well as group courses, to discover and use this energy with deft.
