Beyond Religion
Beyond religion, beyond belief in anything external, there is Unknowing, a sublime Knowing
Religion is useless unless relevant and practical in helping to change the nightmare dream into a happy one, where we live in the world without projecting guilt onto it.
Then, though we still live in the world of illusion, the world of separate bodies, we no longer project subconcious guilt onto it, and so make it real (for us).
We no longer believe in the idea of separation. We KNOW this isn't the truth.
This is true perception.
However, religion often does the opposite and re-enforces the idea of separation.
To help break the spell, I believe it possible to extract the idea of 'priesthood' from its usual religious context, to create a path neither Buddhist nor Christian with regards to content or dogma. In this view, everyone is already lit from within, already a priest, a bridge for others, or a cul-de-sac.
A profound and powerful feeling in the human heart is longing. The universal longing for what is beyond chaos, for peace, for love. This is also the search for Truth. In all religions, the location of this is within.
But how to channel this and harness its power?
Priesthood simply AS A STATE OF BEING free from religious context can be truly useful if it orientates seekers to this peace. It is a way to embody the power of longing. Unlike the Hermit above, priests don't have a lantern, they are the lantern, and in all our daily social interraction.
Any heavy religious part is wholly unnecessary. The light, inner intention is the only requirement. Transmission is directly from the Self. The mind is healing itself. Its journey within is anyway a strictly private and personal one.
Its fruits are always universal.
Darkness & Light
The "like from like" principle states that anything coming from the One, the Source (God etc) must be like it. In fact, it must be exactly like it. The One cannot create anything that is not perfect or else it wouldn't be perfect either. The simple logic of this is flawless, and the consequences far-reaching.
For where then, DOES the 'imperfect' world come from? The metaphysics on the path I know provide a strong framework, but without the necessary correction of perception and the practice of this in daily life, the metaphysics are useless.
Of course, a correction of perception implies that any current perception is incorrect, a stumbling block for some. All that is needed is a little willingness to be open to a new way of looking.
We cannot change what happens to us in life and the challenges we face in it, but we can change our EXPERIENCE of it, and that is what counts. When we learn to put the mind in its proper perspective, we take charge of cause, instead of being at the mercy of effect. Just being open to this idea is already the 'crack where the light comes in'.
Disaster
"Aster” means astral. Disaster means you’re not connected to that higher place that knows better, which may lead to disaster. The best way to be connected is to dis-spel that which seems to disconnect you. Then you can be guided to what’s best for everyone, instead of what’s best for your ego – that thing that wants you to believe that you are just a body, and to hold you under its spell of darkness.
